Before creating your grant proposal, be sure to read the Qualifications page of our website to learn the full scope of our eligibility requirements.


We welcome grant proposals once each year. The timeline for the most recent grant cycle is as follows:

August 22, 2016 - Grant Cycle Opens

September 23, 2016 - Deadline for Proposals
Proposals must be postmarked by this date and mailed to Colordao Plateau Foundation, 150 W. Dale St., Suite 3, Flagstaff, AZ 86001, or emailed to pshriver [at] azfoundation [dot] org

November 4, 2016 - Grant Announcements
Applicants will be informed by email. Please be aware that there may be more requests for support than funds available. Some grant proposals may be partially funded or not at all.

November 18, 2016 - Distribution of Grant Funds
Grant recipients can expect a check to arrive by mail.

April 1, 2017 - Interim Reports Due
A report template will be provided one month prio to the due date.  Additionally, a brief organizational self-assessment survey will be due.

November 14, 2017 - Final Grant Reports
All grant recipients must submit a final accountability report no later than this date.  A template will be provided.  Final reports must also include a brief write-up (350 words maximum) about how the capacity building grant has impacted your organization, as well as providing one to three related photos.

To apply for a grant, develop a proposal following our grant proposal guidelines attached below.  We will respond to all submissions within one week indicating your proposal was received. We look forward to reading your proposal.
