The Indian Pueblo Cultural Center (IPCC) is a world-class museum and cultural center, a place where 19 Pueblo people can tell their stories, beyond the gateway of New Mexico, the center is a necessary first stop for visitors to New Mexico, providing an introduction for understanding the state’s landscape, legacy, and story of continuance. Our mission is to preserve and perpetuate Pueblo culture, and to advance understanding by presenting with dignity and respect the accomplishments and evolving history of the Pueblo people of New Mexico. Known for its collection of Pueblo pottery and murals painted Pueblo artists. Programming includes permanent and rotating exhibits, events with Native American artists and leaders, hands-on children’s programs, art festivals, and film festivals. In New Mexico, Natives account for 57% of COVID-19 deaths despite being only 11% of the population and have an infection rate 14 times higher than the general population. Challenges Natives face, include ability to secure fresh, affordable food as they struggle to protect themselves from COVID. There is a great need to advance environmental protection, cultural preservation and education within tribal communities.
