Seeds of Harmony, Inc. was incorporated in May 2021 with the State of Arizona. On August 31, 2021 the organization received 501(c)3 status. Then in December 2021, the organization became incorporated with the Navajo Nation. The Board of Directors consist of 4 members that are all enrolled tribal members that support the organization mission. The organization began with conducting outreach to the 5 Chapter Governments (Tsaile/Wheatfields/Blackrock, Lukachukai, Round Rock, Rock Point, and Many Farms) that are part of the Lukachukai Creek watershed. This included receiving resolutions that support the organization’s mission from all 5 Chapters. The organization has hosted 2 ‘Walk the Watershed’ events at the headwaters of the Lukachukai and Totsoh Creeks on top of the Chuska Mountains that engage the families that move to the mountain in the summer.The organization values the precious gift of water and believes we must care for our watersheds to ensure life into the future by encouraging water infiltration into the land by building the soil to return to a healthy system that will support biological life. This will enhance food security and enable more locally grown food for all. The organization believes in the strength of the community because it is the people who need to drive the change. The organization believes in sharing knowledge and finding the community’s talents to grow into a collective action community.
