Dear Friends and Partners,
No doubt, and as you know, we are living in alarming times. We see rollbacks of federal support to tribal programs, wildfires raging across large swaths of the Colorado Plateau, which signal a climate crisis that we cannot ignore, and social and political threats that seem to shape many headlines. Yet above the commotion, I want you to know that the Colorado Plateau Foundation remains steady, purposeful, and deeply committed, and we will not fall into despair and pessimism.
In truth, we created the Colorado Plateau Foundation for moments like this. Not to react in fear, but to remain a bedrock and respond with clarity, compassion, and conviction. Our Native-led strategy is rooted in generations of endurance and adaptability. That legacy continues through our support of community-led solutions, cultural resilience, and environmental stewardship that centers Native voices.
The Colorado Plateau Foundation’s belief in the power of Native peoples to lead has never been greater. Now is the time to strengthen relationships, protect what we love, and remain guided by wisdom that reaches far beyond the present storm.
In solidarity and service,
Jim Enote CEO, Colorado Plateau Foundation
